Torridge District Council Planning Committee has voted by 7 to 1 in favour of our Outline application for NG Homes for up to 400 new dwellings on a site off Cornborough Road, Westward Ho!

The site is already allocated for housing in the Local Plan, and now has the green light for development with a mix of houses, bungalows and flats, including 30% affordable homes.  Studio Skein’s layout developed in response to a number of factors, including the site’s ecology and proximity to the nearby Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 

A key feature of the scheme is a linear park which forms a green spine through the development providing trees, play and amenity space for residents, as well as a wildlife corridor for flora and fauna. This creates an orienting feature and a pleasant sense of place, whilst also serving the local ecology with avenues and swales linking to a biodiversity field including a pond and allotments.
