The Planning Committee at Torridge District Council met on Thursday 1st April 2021 to consider the major planning application that includes 120 homes, 14 bungalows and four flats. The mix of affordable and private dwellings are sited on land between Golf Links Road, and Tadworthy Road that was already allocated for housing development under the North Devon and Torridge Local Plan.
As well as offering contemporary homes, the development includes public open space distributed throughout the site, a children’s playground, and a new tree-lined boulevard connecting Tadworthy Road and Golf Links Road.
Despite some local objections, Planning Officers recommended the scheme for approval, and the Planning Committee made up of local Councillors agreed. Since the decision, developers NG Properties SW Ltd, have been inundated with enquiries from potential purchasers, with bungalows in particularly high demand.
